CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL SESSION SEPTEMBER 25 2023
Session will begin at 7:00 PM and will be covering the following information:
Closed Session:
1. The City Council will meet in closed session pursuant to Texas Government Code Section 551.071, to meet with Special Counsel, Denton Navarro Rocha Bernal & Zech, on a matter in which the duty of the attorney to the governmental body under the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct of the State Bar of Texas clearly conflicts with the Open Meetings Act; to wit: To present the City Council with legal concerns and findings from a personnel and operational investigation at the request of Mayor Klestinec in her fulfillment of the duty of the Office of the Mayor pursuant to Texas Local Government Code Section 22.042, to at all times actively ensure that the laws and ordinances of the municipality are properly carried out, and to inspect the conduct of each subordinate municipal officer.
2. Following its consultation with Special Counsel, the City Council will meet in closed session pursuant to Texas Government Code Section the Sec. 551.074, personnel matters, to hear a complaint or charge against an officer or employee and to deliberate the employment, evaluation, duties, discipline, or dismissal of a public officer or employee; to wit: City Administrator Robert Wilhite. City Administrator Wilhite may request a public hearing.
Open Session:
- Following deliberation in Closed Session, the City Council will reconvene in Open Session to consider any final action necessary.
